welcome to triiibe

Cary Wolinsky, a world traveling photographer, and identical triplet artists Alicia, Kelly and Sara Casilio started working together In 2006. Cary retired from traveling the world for National Geographic and wanted to play in his newly built photo studio. Alicia, Kelly and Sara were a few years out of college and were upset about the direction of our country.  The events of 9-11 ushered in the legacy of George W. Bush. Instead of using the attention of the world to build compassion and understanding, he waged war. Instead of replacing Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O’Connor with another woman or a person of color, Samual Alito was nominated. The country felt as if it was becoming more and more divided. We were upset, and we wanted to say something about it.

We asked, “What is it that’s dividing our country?” The answer we kept returning to was tribalism and the assumptions that we have cultivated about each other. Cary’s traveling the world had given him a vast perspective on the way people identify themselves and each other, and Alicia, Kelly and Sara’s experience of being triplets had made them intimately aware what it means to be an “us” and a “them”.

But what we didn’t know as we began our collaboration, as we spent hours, days and years working together, was that our own assumptions would be challenged. Assumptions we didn’t know we had. This body of work is the collection of the efforts of numerous talented individuals who set out thinking they were doing one thing and discovered they were doing something else. The journey of the work was the vehicle that brought us together. It became the means to a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other.

We hope you enjoy!
